CATHAL ARMSTRONG
Owner & Executive Chef, Restaurant Eve, Eamonn's & The Majestic

Cathal Armstrong was born in Dublin, where he opened a small restaurant at the age of 19 before coming to Washington, DC. He worked at Vidalia before becoming executive chef at Jeffrey Buben's second restaurant, Bis, in December 1998. Bis was included in The Washington Post's 'Top 50 Restaurants' in October 1999, and was recognized as 'a top brunch spot' by Washingtonian magazine in March 2000. Cathal opened Restaurant Eve in 2004, and, in 2006 he opened Eamonn's, A Dublin Chipper. Cathal lives in Alexandria with his restaurant-consultant wife, Meshelle, his daughter, Eve, son, Eamonn and their two cats. In 2007 Cathal and Meshelle, bought The Majestic, tweaked the original concept, shortened its name and began making former regulars very happy when they were welcomed back in May.
